DraftKings Picks Week 17: NFL DFS lineup advice for daily fantasy football GPP tournaments

Most fantasy football owners are eliminated from traditional leagues, but DFS contests are still there for the taking. The NFL playoff picture continues to take shape as we’re down to our final pair of main slates for the regular season. The obvious trend we’re participating in this week is Trey Lance, who is very likely to start in place of injured Jimmy Garoppolo. In addition to that, we’re trying to focus on players on teams that still have unfinished business in their respective playoff hunts in our Week 17 DraftKings tournament lineup. As always, we’re looking for some under-the-radar value for GPP tournaments.

Before we break down our picks, here are the most notable scoring rules for DraftKings contests: Full-point PPR, four-point passing TDsthree-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards,100 receiving yards, and 300 passing yards.

WEEK 17 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

DraftKings Picks Week 17: NFL DFS lineup for GPP tournaments

Sunday main slate, $50,000 budget

QB Trey Lance, 49ers vs. Texans ($4,800). If the reports on Jimmy Garoppolo’s thumb (fracture, ligament damage) are accurate, it’s extremely difficult to imagine him under center on Sunday. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has praised the strides Lance has made in recent weeks, and the rookie should get another shot to start against a beatable Texans defense.

RB Ronald Jones II, Buccaneers @ Jets ($6,300). It was rough seeing Ke’Shawn Vaughn steal a potential scoring opportunity from Jones last week — although, it was a nice little run. Jones still saw 22 touches in place of Leonard Fournette. The Jets are far worse defensively on paper, and as long as Jones doesn’t do something like fumble or miss a blitz pickup, he should have the opportunity to post a big performance.

WEEK 17 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | Yahoo

RB Devin Singletary, Bills vs. Falcons ($5,400). Singletary has touched the rock 40 times over the past two weeks and has scored 14.9-plus DraftKings points in each of his last three contests. The Bills have yet to punch their postseason ticket, and a home game against the Falcons presents a prime opportunity to do so. Look for them to continue featuring Singletary’s hot hand on Sunday.

WR Jaylen Waddle, Dolphins @ Titans ($6,700). Waddle continues to dominate targets and show a nose for the end zone. HIs 12 targets on Monday night marked the third game in a row he’s seen double-digit looks. He’s also scored twice over that span. The Dolphins are scratching and clawing for what will be one of the final playoff spots, so it’s reasonable to anticipate them continuing to lean heavily on their best player.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions @ Seahawks ($6,000). St. Brown has really taken off in recent weeks. Since Week 13, he’s delivered three 23.0-plus Draftking-point performances. He’s drawn 46 targets over that span and scored in three separate games. Seattle boasts one of the worst pass defenses per DVOA, and St. Brown should continue to serve as the focal point of this Lion’s offense.

WR Odell Beckham Jr., Rams @ Ravens ($5,700). We know how dominant Cooper Kupp has been for the Rams, but Beckham provides plenty of production potential at a very reasonable cost. He’s scored four times over the past five games and received seven or more targets in three of those contests. The Ravens’ secondary is in shambles, so there should be plenty of opportunities for Beckham and Stafford to find and exploit openings against weak coverage.

WEEK 17 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

TE Mark Andrews, Ravens vs. Rams ($7,400). It simply hasn’t mattered who’s under center for the Ravens as it pertains to Andrews’ production. The stud tight end narrowly missed a three-week streak of scoring 30.0-plus DK points. He had to settle for 29.5 points last week, but his average over the last three games is still 33.2 DK points.

FLEX (RB) Boston Scott, Eagles @ Football Team ($4,900). With Miles Sanders (hand) out for Sunday’s contest, the Eagles will be forced to split up the workload among the remaining backs. Scott has typically received healthy workloads in Sanders’ stead, and that should be the case once again as the Eagles try to remain in the hunt for one of the final two playoff spots.

WEEK 17 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

DEF Dolphins @ Titans ($2,800). The Titans, simply put, are not a scary offense. Not statistically, not on paper, not by most other measures one would consider. Aside from A.J. Brown, there’s nobody on this roster who strikes fear into defenses. If the Dolphins can slow Brown — and that’s admittedly a significant “if” — they should be able to wreak some havoc on Sunday.
