Google may bring this Apple’s ‘battery’ feature to Pixel smartphones in future – Times of India

Google has rolled out the Andriod 13 QPR1 Beta 2 update on Pixel smartphones. The latest beta version includes a couple of changes to the media player. Along with that, it also makes the Battery Health feature functional. 9to5Google has reported that the latest beta 2 updates on Pixel smartphones now let users enable the Battery Health feature.
According to the report, the Battery Health feature is similar to what we’ve seen on Apple iPhone, Watch and Mac. The Battery Health page shows the battery status with a Maximum Capacity tag which, as per the report, will be listed as a percentage. Below the Maximum Capacity option, Google has also provided a small description that reads, “Phone batteries, like all rechargeable batteries, are consumable components that become less effective as they age and are irreversible.”

The percentage can be tapped to access more detailed information and some key tips to improve battery life such as enabling Adaptive Charging, Optimise system settings, updating to the latest software and more.
The Battery Health feature on Android 13 Beta 2 can be accessed within the Settings → Battery → Battery Health.
While the feature is currently intended for Pixel smartphones and it is expected to arrive via a software update later this year. Currently, it is unclear whether Google will extend the feature to other devices or OEMs will adapt this feature for their phones.
Meanwhile, Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be launched today via a virtual event at 7:30 pm IST. The handsets will bring the latest Tensor G2 chipset along with improved and advanced camera features.
