According to a report by 9to5Google, there is a new option called ‘Ridesharing’ that will let users check how far their Uber ride is. Turning this toggle will provide users much time will it take for their cab to reach them – without having them to open the app on the smartphone.
The report also said that this feature will be available for Pixel smartphones at first and may be expanded to other Android smartphone users later. The feature comes after Apple introduced support for Live Activities that show similar information.
How to turn ‘At a Glance’ feature on or off
At a Glance is on by default on Pixel 3 and up. At a Glance only displays the date can’t be turned off. If you don’t want to get certain updates or recommendations, you can change your settings.
- Press and hold ‘At a Glance’ near the top of your home screen.
- Tap ‘Customise’.
- Next to “At a Glance,” tap Settings.
- Under “Features,” tap a topic or category to turn it on or off.
- For more topics or categories, scroll to the bottom and tap ‘See more features’.
- Turn At a Glance on or off.
How to customise ‘At a Glance’ information
Users can get updates in ‘At a Glance’ on lock screen if they turn on notifications for lock screen. To update the sensitive notifications setting:
- Press and hold At a Glance near the top of your home screen
- Tap ‘Customise’.
- Next to “At a Glance,” tap Settings and then Sensitive content on lockscreen.
- Under “Privacy,” turn Sensitive notifications on or off.
The report also said that ‘At a Glance’ may also get loud sound alerts and shortcuts to airport and other transit schedules.
