GTA 6 release date boost: More signs point towards imminent launch
The GTA 6 release date appears to have been narrowed down by Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive. Backing up earlier reports about the GTA 6 release date, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told investors to expect a record cash boost in the 2025 fiscal year, which runs from April 2024 to March 2025. Needless to say, Zelnick’s comments have fuelled speculation that Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch during this period, as only something like GTA could generate “record levels of operating performance” for Take-Two Interactive.
In a statement to investors, Zelnick said: “We remain confident that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025, which we believe will include new record levels of operating performance.
“We would like to thank all of our stakeholders for their continued support, and we look forward to delivering on this exciting next chapter.”
Take-Two’s chief financial officer Lainie Goldstein also commented on the cash boost, telling investors to expect a “significant inflection point” in fiscal 2025.
“We are confident that the actions our teams are taking this year are preparing us for a strong trajectory of growth,” Goldstein said.
“Through our collective efforts, we continue to believe that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025 that will culminate in us delivering new record levels of operating performance next year and beyond.”
With Take-Two previously confirming plans to release several groundbreaking titles in the coming years, it’s almost guaranteed that the GTA 5 sequel is in line for an imminent launch.
Red Dead Redemption is coming to Nintendo Switch… but the good news ends there
Fans already know a little bit about the next Grand Theft Auto, following a huge leak last year.
Judging by the leaks, it looks like the new Grand Theft Auto will take place in Vice City, and will feature male and female playable characters.
In one scene the characters were shown robbing a diner, which backs up earlier reports of a Bonnie and Clyde-style dynamic.
Another leak suggests Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature multiple drag racing strips, as well as at least one farm.
As fans wait for the GTA 6 reveal and subsequent release date, Rockstar Games has announced plans to release Red Dead Redemption on Nintendo Switch and PS4 in August.
The open-world classic will be available digitally from August 17, followed by a physical release in October.
