Nothing CEO may have a ‘Fake warning’ for you – Times of India

Nothing is set to launch its second smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2), in July. In the run-up to the phone’s debut, there have been a lot of rumours regarding the phone’s design and specifications. Earlier this week, a few high-quality renders of the smartphone surfaced online suggesting certain design changes. Soon after the images popped on the internet, the company CEO Carl Pei took to Twitter and appeared to refute the renders.
Carl Pei says ‘Fake’
Shortly after the renders were posted online, Pei tweeted “Fake”. While the CEO did not explicitly said that the leaked renders are ‘Fake’, it is assumed that he highlighted that the leaked renders of the Nothing Phone (2) does not match the actual phone.

Nothing Phone (2) design
According to the latest renders, the Nothing Phone (2) will pretty much have the same design as the Phone (1). However, there are slight changes in the Glyph interface with redesigned lights. The leaked images also indicated that Phone (2) will feature a more curved rear panel to improve in-hand grip.
Nothing Phone (2) will be made in India
Earlier this week, Manu Sharma, VP and GM of Nothing India said that the Nothing Phone (2) will be manufactured in India.
“Nothing smartphones are known for their iconic transparent design. These designs require hi-tech manufacturing processes and precision engineering which have led to the enhancement of smartphone manufacturing capabilities in India. Our drive to manufacture in India reflects our commitment towards the local consumers and their demands. We are proud to announce that Phone (2) will be manufactured in India,” he said.

Nothing Phone (2) specifications
The London-based phone maker has already confirmed a few key specifications of their next smartphone. Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. According to Pei, the reason to go with this SoC is that it is better optimised and is also less expensive.
The smartphone will pack a 4700mAh battery, a slightly bigger capacity than Nothing Phone (1)’s 4500mAh unit. The smartphone is also reported to sport a Full HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and may pack 8GB RAM as well as up to 256GB of storage.
