Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits he’d love new Man Utd role after sacking
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken for the first time since his sacking as Manchester United manager, admitting he’d love to return in a different aspect down the line. On Sunday, United published a 12-minute interview with Solskjaer as he says farewell to the club after three years in charge.
The Red Devils dismissed Solskjaer after Saturday’s humiliating 4-1 defeat against Watford at Vicarage Road.
It left the club slumped in seventh amid a disastrous run of five losses in the last seven Premier League games.
Solskjaer took charge in December 2018 following Jose Mourinho’s exit but failed to win silverware, despite guiding United to the latter stages of numerous competitions.
His departure has been respectful, with United conducting a final interview to say goodbye to the Norwegian club icon.

During which, Solskjaer suggested that fans will see him at Old Trafford again in some capacity.
He said: “[You’ll see me again,] definitely. If you want me pitchside with you, I’m there! No, I’m very happy and proud of what I’ve done with the good friends I’ve made, and I wish all the best to everyone.
“You know the staff here, we’ve been through criticisms and blah, blah, blah, but the way they conduct themselves and the way they work, the knowledge and the attitude, I admire them.
“Normally, I drive in at seven, half seven at times and I think, ‘I’ve caught them today, I’m in before them’ but no chance. There’s not been a day.”
