ONE Championship Fight Night 7 is set for Saturday morning in Bangkok, Thailand’s famed Lumpinee Stadium. The three-fight undercard will begin at 7:00am local time, and the seven-fight main card, which will air on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service in North America, will kick off at 8:00.
In the main event, Brazil’s John Lineker will battle his countryman Fabricio Andrade for the promotion’s vacant bantamweight MMA title. Lineker held the belt until last October, when he missed weight for his first fight with Andrade, and was stripped of the title of the result.
The fight went ahead, but when Andrade shattered Lineker’s protective cup with a inadvertent low blow in the third round, it was ruled a no contest, which meant the division’s throne was still vacant when the two fighters left the Circle.
There will also be a title up for grabs in the ONE Fight Night 7 co-main event, as Thailand’s Tawanchai PK. Saenchai attempts to defend his featherweight Muay Thai belt against hard-charging Russian Jamal Yusupov.
Earlier in the night, former two-division MMA champion Martin Nguyen will attempt to get back bounce from a knockout loss to Ilya Freymanov opposite Brazil’s Leonardo Casotti. The Vietnamese-Australian had originally been set to meet Shamil Gasanov on the card, and then Razhab Shaydullaev, but ultimately accepted a short-notice fight with the Brazilian when both of his previous opponents were deemed unable to compete.
American submission grappling star Danielle Kelly is also set to appear on the card. She’ll meet Japanese MMA contender Ayaka Miura in a catchweight contest.
There is plenty of excitement to come – and probably some drama to go along with it.
