PV Sindhu slips three places to world number 15 in latest BWF rankings | Badminton News – Times of India
Double Olympic medallist Sindhu currently has 51,070 points from 13 tournaments.
Earlier this year, she had already fallen out of the top 10, and her performance this season has been below par since her return from a five-month injury break due to a stress fracture in her ankle, which occurred while winning the Commonwealth Games gold in August last year.
Sindhu’s notable achievements this season include reaching the final of the Madrid Spain Masters Super 300 and the semi-finals of the Malaysia Masters Super 500. However, she faced early exits in several other events at the beginning of the year.
Among the men’s doubles players, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are the top-ranked Indian at world number 3.
In the men’s singles category, HS Prannoy is the highest-ranked Indian player, currently occupying the 8th position, while Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth are placed at 19th and 20th, respectively.
In the women’s doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand dropped one spot and currently hold the 17th position.
The men’s doubles pair of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila are ranked 26th, while Rohan Kapoor and N Sikki Reddy occupy the 33rd position in the latest rankings.
