Pre-Match Analysis:
With limited T20Is left ahead of the marquee T20 competition in West Indies and the USA both South Africa and India will look to make use of the couple of T20Is left in the series after 1st T20I was washed due to rain. Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee will leave the South African T20 squad after the 2nd T20I to start preparing for the longest format. The Proteas are keen to provide the opportunity for newly recruited pacers Nandre Burger and Ottniel Baartman. Matthew Breetzke with only one T20I experience will pair up with Reeza Hendricks to open the innings. Massive responsibilities are on Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, and David Miller in the batting department.
India will be playing their first T20I at St George’s Park and will look to fix their combination with plenty of resources in their think tank. Deepak Chahar who is likely a starter for the series hasn’t joined the squad yet due to a medical emergency of a close family member and he is doubtful for the remainder of the tour. Stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Coach Rahul Dravid have to make tough decisions while selecting the playing eleven with huge competition for every single spot. They won the T20I series 2-1 when they toured South Africa in 2017/18.
