The Flash: Box Office Success Would Have Led to a Batman Beyond Movie

The Flash hit the theatres on June 16, 2023 and brought two new characters into the DCEU. These two characters are none other than Michael Keaton’s Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. Many have been wondering what DC will be doing with these two characters, but we have just learned what DC would’ve done with one of these characters if The Flash managed to hit the predicted box office numbers.

Michael Keaton has played an iconic iteration of the Dark Knight, and surely every single fan of character went crazy in the theatres when they heard Keaton say, “You wanna get nuts? Let’s Get Nuts? However, we would’ve received a lot more of Keaton as the Caped Crusader if only The Flash managed to hit the benchmarks that had been set by the studio. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen as Flash reportedly hasn’t made enough money.

The future project for Keaton would have been a Batman Beyond movie that fans have been yearning for quite some time, and the actor would’ve been the perfect fit to play an older Bruce Wayne. As spotted by ComicBook, the reveal comes from director Kevin Smith during the Fatman Beyond Q&A session, where he said that if The Flash managed to hit the numbers that Matt Reeves’ Batman made, then the Batman Beyond movie would have been a sure thing. This information came to him through Michael Uslan’s son, who is a longtime producer for Batman projects.
