Popular food-ordering apps Zomato and Swiggy are reportedly down in several parts of the country. The outage was discovered when users were not able to order food during the lunch hour on Wednesday. Several users took to social media platforms Twitter and Facebook to seek help, however, the official handles of both Zomato and Swiggy have not acknowledged the outage yet. It is worth noting that the platforms are quite popular among netizens for their creative posts and witty remarks.
As per the screenshots shared by users, Swiggy is showing an error message that reads “Oops! Something’s not right. Our best minds are on it. You may retry or check back soon!”. On the other hand, Zomato is showing a “Something went wrong. Please try again later.” message. According to a few posts shared on Twitter, the customer care executives of the companies are not able to help in this situation.

Reports suggest that this is a technical problem and it will likely be a topic of concern for Zomato and Swiggy are allegedly involved in delayed payment cycles and exorbitant commissions. Earlier this week, Competition Commission of India (CCI) ordered a thorough investigation into the conduct of online food delivery platforms.
The move comes after the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) lodged a complaint against the platforms. The NRAI represents over 50,000 restaurant operators across the country.
